What are you watching? What TV shows is everyone watching right now? What are you looking forward to?

I'm watching Pluribus and Shrinking on Apple TV. I'm not sure why, but they just hit right. I think it might be the seriousness of the tone but with the right mix of comedy thrown in.

I think Lalo, from Better Call Saul, is the only deeply embodied villain I've ever seen portrayed on television. He's embodied in both the sense that he has strong physical energy in every scene, and also importantly the way the character seems to navigate the world through intelligent, but 'non-conscious' actions. He's like, a Taoist hero.

It sharply contrasts him with the other villain, Gus, who is a cerebral planner thinking everything through. This difference goes hand in hand with their conflict. I thought both actors portrayed their roles and their mindsets magnificently; here's a great analysis of the subtle ways that Tony Dalton brought that to the role https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddXnhoQ1I-4&ab_channel=JustanObservation

super cool. I haven't seen Better Call Saul.   Do you know Zaheer from Avatar Legend of Korra (season 3)? Until the very last episode I think he's kinda a Taoist villain as well. Also what do you think of Thanos from Avengers Infinity War?...

Wholesomeness culture. I was listening to a cool album Dara and Forest recommended called ten days, and as I was listening to it I had this surge of: ahh yeah, wholesomeness is so cool, I wish it was a bigger trend. And then I'm like: how is it already a big trend to be wholesome, which I'm just not aware of yet? This album feels that way to me. I guess in some way sustainable living, recycling, reusing is wholesome and trendy these days, as well as being honest and kind  (Relatefulness and AR seems to be a little trendy these days), living healthy, supporting local businesses etc.  what else is wholesome and trendy these days?

Oh you know that reminds me of another show that's hard to stay with, but ends up extremely wholesome in the second season: Sens8. The first 4 episodes are so freaking overwhelming and you have no idea what's going on, but if you're up for it, it's an amazing experience because...

The Diplomat is amazing. The Netflix show, The Diplomat is amazing. I love it – it ticks all of my boxes for suspense, romance, intrigue, and things I can’t name.

Did you see it, did you like it?

I’m watching A Discovery of Witches and also enjoying that, but both Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches and Interview with a Vampire are sadly proving unwatchable.
Love to hear what you’re watching and loving

I liked Wanda Vision a lot, super creative. I think Loki (s1 and s2), Falcon and Winter Soldier (directly works with the history of racism in the USA and how it’s been woven into our culture), and What If? are just as good....

How should I landscape my house? I am working on landscaping the home I bought in October, starting with the front yard due to a couple of issues. First, there is a big dip in the yard that floods every time it rains heavily. Second, the driveway is right in front of my bedroom window, causing headlights to shine into my room when people come and go, and limiting my ability to open the windows due to privacy concerns.

I’ve hired a permaculture landscaper who is currently working on a design. Meanwhile, I need to decide what to do about the driveway and whether to add a carport.

I could really use some opinions on the following:

    • How would you deal with the flooding issue?
    • What would you suggest for the driveway or adding a carport? I can move the driveway to the other side of the house or leave it as is.

I can post photos if there’s a way to do that. I have many ideas also but curious to hear what folks think with this info.

oh sure. I hadn’t thought about that. But still, I think it will be cool to see the transformation over time. I think that’s why a lot of us love those home improvement shows.
